Monticello
Course at Savannah Lakes Village
From
the Savannah Lakes website:
The Monticello Golf Course is a 7,032 yard course
along South Carolina’s “Freshwater Coast” set within
a 4,000-acre lakefront sporting community nestled
in 63,368 acres of national forest land and state
parks along the 70,000 acre Lake Thurmond (also
known as Clarks Hill Lake).
The
Monticello Golf is a modern links course with fewer
trees, rolling topography and a lot more water!
The course stretches 7,032 yards from the championship
tees and features bent grass greens, zoysia collars,
and bermuda fairways/rough. Water comes into play
on 9 of the 18 holes, which includes a dramatic
lakefront peninsula midway through the front nine.
Monticello is home to the National Golf Association's
Pro Golf Tour’s premiere event, which visits the
golf club in late April each year for the "Savannah
Lakes Village Classic."
